Is a Companion a nurse or carer?
No. Hospital Companions provide non-medical companionship and practical presence. They do not provide nursing, personal care, clinical advice or treatment.
Can I make a booking now?
Not yet. Hospital Companion is pre-launch. An availability check records demand and may let you request a launch notification; it does not create a booking.
Who can use the service?
Adults of any age who would value a trusted person at a hospital, GP or other medical appointment, including people booking support for a relative.
What will it cost?
The V1 scheduled weekday price is shown as £35 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Urgent, evening and weekend prices may differ and are still being finalised.
Are Companions vetted?
Applicants must meet identity, DBS, insurance, vetting and training requirements before becoming active. Exact policies will be published before launch.
